Scope and Content of Collection
The bulk of this collection covers Bill Muster's six years as merchandising manager at Capitol Records from 1953 to 1959,
including correspondence and clippings, promotional materials, newsletters, and photos. A section of the correspondence relates
specifically to Muster's firing from Capitol Records in 1959.
Arrangement
This collection has been divided into the following series: I. Newsletters and reports, II. Playboy files, III. Clippings,
IV. Donald Hassler files, V. Press releases, VI. Capitol Tower opening, VII. Miscellaneous.
Series II. Playboy files contains correspondence and clippings regarding Bill Muster's firing by Capitol Records. Series IV.
Donald Hassler files, contains correspondence, a resume, and clippings concerning Donald Hassler, a fellow employee at Capitol
Records. Series VI. Capitol Tower opening, includes items relating to the opening of the Capitol tower in Los Angeles in 1956.
