The California History collection includes various types of materials, such as books, pamphlets, maps, photographs, and newspapers.
Copies of the local newspaper, the Yorba Linda Star, are kept on file either in paper copy or on microfilm. The Yorba Linda
Star is indexed at
www.yorbalindahistory.org/star/ . There is material not relating solely to the city of Yorba Linda. Examples include local histories from nearby cities,
materials on the County of Orange, and material on topics of great interest such as the California rancho era, Richard M.
Nixon, Jessamyn West, and general California histories. The collection does not house artifacts and memorabilia. There is
an album of photocopies of the photographs for interested patrons to view. The Yorba Linda Public Library's local history
photograph collection includes images of historical interest for Yorba Linda and Placentia, CA from the mid-1850s to 1964.
Images document the commercial, agricultural, residential and public buildings and areas, as well as people. Photographs may
be scanned and put on a CD-ROM for patrons.
