Description
Ellis Adams Jarvis (1900- ) was a teacher in San Pedro (1924- ), and later served as a superintendent of Los Angeles City Schools (November 1956-January 1962). The collection consists of correspondence, clippings, scrapbooks, photographs, memorabilia and related printed material of Ellis A. Jarvis, and the papers of the Jarvis family.

Ellis Adams Jarvis was born on August 18, 1900 in Ione, California to parents Clarence E. Jarvis and Nellie Tracy; BA, UC Berkeley, 1923; MS, University of Southern California, 1935; married Margaret L. Pickles; began teaching in San Pedro in 1924; served as superintendent of Los Angeles City Schools, November 1956-January 1962.
