Background
Annie Lyle was an American physician who practiced in the San Francisco and northern California regions. She was in the pioneer
class of 1895 at Stanford University, where she befriended Herbert Hoover, and she eventually served as a Republican Party
campaign worker, supporting Hoover during his presidential campaigns.
