Boxes 1-69 contain files that include home and cellular telephone numbers of state employees. California Government Code section 7928.300 (formerly section 6254.3) exempts this information from public disclosure. Scope and Content Note

Bill Files contain analyses, correspondence, memoranda, comments, reports, enrolled bill reports, and similar materials related to various topics of interest to the State and Consumer Services Agency and the state departments it oversaw. Since the agency oversaw a diverse group of departments, the bill files reflect a variety of different topics such as environmental advertising and safety, domestic partnerships, public and school employee retirement issues, State Personnel Board subpoena powers, discrimination against homosexuals, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, firearm permits, retail credit, the Violence Against Women Act, and various kinds of professional licensing.

Scope and Content Note

The Legislative Proposals include bill drafts, enrolled bill reports, legislative analyses, correspondence, memoranda, notes, comments, and similar materials related to proposed legislation by the State and Consumer Services Agency, its departments as well as legislation proposed by the other state departments that would affect the Agency. The proposals were by numerous state agencies and departments and usually contained a recommendation about whether to continue to the proposal forward. Proposals are from departments such as the Department of General Services, Department of Consumer Affairs, Department of Veteran Affairs, Youth and Adult Corrections Agency, Department of Fair Employment and Housing, State Fire Marshall, Public Employees Retirement Systems, School Employees Retirement System, Resources Agency, Fair Employment and Housing Commission, Building Standards Commission, Department of Industrial Relations, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Personnel Administration.
