    Scope and Content of Collection

    The collection contains three scrapbooks of clippings about the Civil War era and its participants. Newspapers represented include the New York Daily Tribune, New York Evening Post, New York Herald, and New York Times. Many of the clippings are about Civil War memorials, Abraham Lincoln's death, eulogies for Civil War veterans, activities of groups such as the Union League, historical sketches of military units, and stories about Civil War generals and battles.
