Description
Notes and ephemera connected with the book collection that Stanford Libraries bought. Includes correspondence and publications. The collection is particularly strong in Jewish, Israeli, and Zionist history, dictionaries, encyclopedias,and books in the field of Hebrew language; translations into Hebrew of world literature; and most importantly, Hebrew literature, both ancient and modern.
Background
Israeli publisher and editor. Cohen was born in Galicia in 1905. He was a book lover all his life. He chaired Israel's Union of Hebrew Writers and published hundreds of articles of literary criticism. He died in 1986.
