Biography

Gordon Haines True was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on December 14, 1868. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1894, he served at the Michigan Agricultural College, the University of Arizona, and the University of Nevada before accepting a position at the University Farm (now the University of California, Davis) as Professor of Animal Husbandry in 1913. He was Chairman of the Animal Husbandry Division from 1914-1926.
In 1926, True transferred to the University of California, Berkeley to teach Animal Husbandry courses there. He passed away on June 4, 1928 in Berkeley.
