Biography
The following biography was taken from Nelson White's last book, published in 1999. Mr. White passed away in August 2003.
Nelson White (Frater Zarathustra) was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1938. He graduated from James B. Castle High School in
Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii in 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman in San Diego California. He graduated from
San Bernardino Valley College in 196l with an Associate of Arts in Electronics. While at S.B.V.C. he was active in the San
Bernardino County Sheriff 's Motorcycle Posse, as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff, and also spent several years with the Civil Air
Patrol as Communications Officer of Search & Rescue Squadron 31, at Norton Air Force Base. After working several years in
the Electronics and Defense fields, he returned to college and graduated from The University of Redlands in 1968 with a B.A.
in Government & Public Administration. He attended Graduate School both at Redlands and at UCLA where he received several
Teaching Credentials. First Ordained in 1968, he has since been Ordained by several other Churches, He received his first
Honorary Doctorate in 1969 and has also received several others since then. Dr. White has taught in a number of Junior and
Senior High Schools in both Southern and Northern California. Dr. White was active in the Southern California Occult scene
for over 20 years, and was instrumental in the formation and operation of several Esoteric Churches and Magickal Orders. He
published, edited and wrote numerous articles for a quarterly magazine of Ceremonial Magick: "The White Light" for the entire
15+ years of its existence. He also operated a Religious Supply and Book store in Pasadena, for over 17 years, during that
time he wrote many books on Magick and other topics. Presently he resides in Northern California and is working on his 125th.
book. Dr. White is also a private pilot, an amateur radio operator, a 4-wheel drive enthusiast, and was a member of MENSA
for several years, and was Knighted, by the Alter Souveidner Templer Orden, based in Vienna, Austria, on June 17th, 1989.
He is also recruiting Occult students who speak German, for a Templer Chapter to be organized in the San Francisco Bay Area
Dr. White sings with The Richmond Chor, one of the oldest German singing groups in the Bay area. Dr. White has received numerous
Community Service awards and was listed in: Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in California, Who's Who in American Authors,
Editors & Poets, Two Thousand Notable Americans, among others. Dr. White is presently retired from NASA's Ames Research Center
at Moffett Field, California, and continues his interest in Magick and writing. He also continues to be active in the Book
Publishing business.
Scope and Content of Collection
Collection primarily consists of page proofs for books on ceremonial magic self-published by Nelson White and his wife Anne
under the Technology Group imprint. There is also some unpublished material concerning the O.T.A. (Ordo Templi Astartes),
an occult lodge functioning in the Los Angeles area during the early 1970s.
