Abstract: This collection contains the professional papers of Seymour Menton, the founding chair of the Department of Foreign Languages
and Literatures at the University of California, Irvine, and Professor Emeritus of Spanish and Portuguese. His papers reflect
his 55-year career in teaching and writing in the field of Latin American literature. Included are research notes, book reviews,
correspondence, class material, class reviews, curriculum vitae, journal articles, two boxes of monographs, and an audiocassette
of an oral history interview with Menton.
