Klein was born in 1907 in New York City; graduated from Stanford University; became publicist, teacher, and writer; lived
in Berlin and London and worked for news services as a feature writer and reporter; published works include
The peoples of Israel: fifty-seven centuries of presence (c.1986).
Scope and Content
Collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts, publishers files, researchers files, photographs, diaries, card indexes,
and bibliographies of journalist and author Herbert Arthur Klein. Manuscripts include
Hitler's hangups. Correspondence includes letters to Klein from composer Ernest A. Bloch and author Egon Kisch.
