The collection consists of the business records of the Sunset Club of Los
Angeles from its inception in 1895, and currently updated through 2010.
The Sunset Club was started in Los Angeles in 1895 by Charles Dwight Willard
(1866-1914), along with Charles Fletcher Lummis, W.C. Patterson, Bert Estes, and
Fred L. Alles. It was modeled on the Sunset Club of Chicago as a men's social
