Description
Included in this collection are the minutes of the Stanford Athletic Council which functioned between 1946 and 1950. Typical
matters addressed include sale of Big Game tickets, contracts with other colleges, training regulations, upkeep of facilities,
televising games, the golf course, and finances. Other subjects include the Buck of the Month Club, staff appointments, the
Stanford Riding School, involvement of Stanford athletes in Olympic Games, and non-varsity sports.
Background
The Stanford Board of Athletic Control was re-established by the Board of Trustees in 1950, newly named the Stanford Athletic
Board. Their responsibilities included care of athletic facilities, oversight of competitive sports events, and budgetary
matters.
