Abstract: This collection comprises topical files of materials collected by dance historian and University of California, Irvine dance
professor Olga Maynard for instruction and research purposes. These materials include correspondence, clippings, publications,
photographs, programs and notebooks that document twentieth century ballet and modern dance. Additionally, the collection
includes syllabi, reading lists, and course examinations crated by Maynard while at UC Irvine; typescripts and notes for her
publications; materials relating to various academic service on committees at UC Irvine; and audiocassettes of interviews
with dancers and choreographers. Of particular interest for researchers are videocassettes of choreography; movies and television
shows about dance in the twentieth century; and correspondence from noted ballet dancers and correographers Marianna Tcherkassky,
Anthony Tudor, Hugh Laing, and Suzanne Farrell.
