Description
The Carmen Sandoval Fernandez Poster Collection consists of 62 Chicano Movement-related posters, broadsides, and advertisements. These one-of-a-kind posters and broadsides
document local events and organizations, as well as local and national groups involved in the Chicano Movement in San Diego,
including the Chicano Federation of San Diego County, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, and the Committee on Chicano
Rights, Inc.
Background
Carmen Sandoval Fernandez graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors and Masters of Public Administration.
She has served on the Boards of the Chicano Federation and Chula Vista Parks and Recreation. She is currently the Director
of Public Policy with the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Chair of Mujeres de la Tierra.
