Scope and Content Note
The Meeting Files document both Commission meetings and Legislative Drafting Subcommittee meetings. Files may include correspondence,
invitations to elected officials, agendas, minutes, press releases, news clippings, reports, testimony and statements, notes,
memoranda, background, schedules, audio recordings, recommendations, and fact sheets. Significant topics include Local Area
Formation Commissions (LAFCOs) and the San Fernando Valley Secession Project.
Audiocassettes have been separated to a cold-storage vault for preservation purposes and separation sheets are in the files
to alert the researcher to the existence of these items.

Scope and Content Note
The Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) Files document the extensive background research into these organizations performed
by the CLG. Files may include reports, fact sheets, notes, correspondence, and LAFCO survey data (by county). Significant
subjects include annexation, elections, counties, incorporation, legislation, Proposition 13, secession, special districts,
and voting rights.

Scope and Content Note
The AB2838 (2000) Files pertain to the development of this Assembly bill through the legislative process. The CLG worked
closely with the legislature to promote the passage of the bill that would incorporate much of the Commission's recommendations.
Files may include hearing analyses, correspondence, notes, and amended versions of the bill. Topics include Assembly and
Senate hearings, working group meetings, statistics, special districts, LAFCO procedures, housing, sprawl/growth management,
and annexations.

The Subject Files relate to the diverse range of topics of interest to the CLG as well as the internal records of the CLG.

information, contracts, and press releases. Significant topics include budget, personnel, consultants, travel information,
taxes, land use, population, and report ("Growth Within Bounds" or GWB) preparation.
