Biography
Robert H. Eisele was born June 9, 1948 in Altadena, CA. He obtained both his B.A. and M.F.A. from the University of California
at Los Angeles in 1971 and 1974 respectively. Though primarily known as a writer, Eisele has worked in multiple aspects of
the entertainment industry including as a professor, writer, story editor and producer. Beginning his career in the 1970's,
Eisele taught playwriting throughout California at such institutions as Santa Monica College, The American Conservatory Theatre
and Rio Hondo College. His work in television first began in the mid 1980's as a story editor for the television series
Crime Story and he went on to produce for the television stations NBC-TV and Universal TV. Eisele's television writing credits include
the television series
Cagney and Lacey and
The Equalizer and his motion picture writing credits include the films
The Last Light and
The Great Debaters. In addition to his work for television and film, Eisele has written multiple stage plays, garnering awards such as the Oscar
Hammerstein playwrighting fellowship, the Donald Davis Dramatic Writing Award, and the Humanitas Award.
