    Scope and Content of Collection

    This broadside, measuring 63.5 x 46.5 cm., advertises a funeral ceremony in honor of assassinated president Abraham Lincoln, to be held in Elgin, Illinois, on April 19, 1865. It details the route of the procession, the order of local official participants in the procession, and the order of service for the ceremony to be held in the Academy Hall.
    The broadside was printed in Elgin by Gazette Print on April 17, 1865. The text of the broadside is enclosed in a black border. On the UCI Special Collections copy of this broadside the word "ceremony" is misspelled "ceremonifs" and the word "arrangements" is spelled out.
