a reception being held at Flügel's home, 1914; ; and a photocopy of the notice of completion of work on Flugel’s Palo Alto
home, 1897.

Biographical/Historical Sketch
Ewald Flügel was Professor of English at Stanford University from 1892 until his death in 1914. He received his Ph.D. from
the University of Leipzig in 1886; his specialty was Anglo-Saxan literature and Chaucer.
