Description
Mrs. Patrick Campbell (1865-1940), a British actress, performed in The Hunchback, The School for Scandal, As You Like It, and The Second Mrs. Tanqueray, among other plays. The collection contains prompt scripts, working scripts, and other production materials relating to three plays she starred in: The Moon of Yamato by Robert d'Humiere; The Macleans of Bairness by Edith Littleton; and Madame Kuranda by Frederick Horace Rose. Many of the scripts are annotated, presumably by Mrs. Patrick Campbell.
Background
Beatrice Stella Tanner was born February 9, 1865 in London to John and Luigia Tanner. She married Patrick Campbell and they had two children, Alan and Stella.
