    Scope and Content of Collection

This collection contains theses, resolutions, bulletins, pamphlets, leaflets, memorabilia, and other printed matter relating to the Young Communist League. The material pertains to the American Communist youth movement from their first iteration of their organization during the early years of operation (1921-1949), both in its underground (after the USA's First Red Scare in 1919-1920) and surface-level activities, as well as to the international communist youth movement. Furthermore, it includes some issuances of the Young Communist International, the Communist Party of the United States, and anti-communist groups. The Young Communist League of the United States (or YCL) is strongly connected to the USA's Communist party, serving as their youths branch.
