Description
The Library History Committee of the California Library Association assumed responsibility for collecting historical materials on California libraries beginning in 1965. The collection consists of correspondence, typescript histories of individual libraries, reports and surveys, tape recorded interviews and transcripts, microfilm copies of California Public Library Reports (1909-55), and a photocopy of the book, The California county library.
Background
The Library History Committee, California Library Association, assumed responsibility for collecting historical materials on California libraries and designated the UCLA Library as the repository for the collection in 1965.

Restrictions
Property rights to the physical object belong to the UCLA Library Special Collections. Literary rights, including copyright, are retained by the creators and their heirs. It is the responsibility of the researcher to determine who holds the copyright and pursue the copyright owner or his or her heir for permission to publish where The UC Regents do not hold the copyright.
