Description
The collection documents some of the many recreational, educational, and conservation activities and objectives central to the Sierra Club's mission.  It includes correspondence, programs, activities, events, policies, reports, meeting minutes, newsletters, and publications.  Accessions from 1999 and 2000 comprise the collection's final series.  The 1999 accession is also referred to as Sierra Club B, and the 2000 accession as Sierra Club C.
Background
The San Diego Chapter of the Sierra Club was established in 1948. Nationwide, the Sierra Club's members and supporters number over 1.3 million. Inspired by nature, the Sierra Club works to protect communities and the planet. The Club is America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.
