Biographical/Historical Sketch
The organization of Stanford library staff has been known by several names: SULA
[Stanford University Librarians Assembly], SULSA [Stanford University Libraries Staff
Association], LASU [Library Association of Stanford University], and SLSA [Stanford
Libraries Staff Association]. At one time there were separate groups for professional
staff and support staff, but that distinction was later dropped. In addition to
addressing professional concerns and issues, the association also sponsored events and
held book sales.
