    Acquisition Information

    Purchase and donation, various sources, frequent additions, ca. 1950s-2011. This collection includes material collected by Hobart O. Skofield and subsequent materials that come to the Department of Special Research Collections on a continuing and piecemeal basis. Additions to the collection are frequent and ongoing, usually coming directly from presses/printers as part of their publicity.

    Scope and Content

    The collection includes articles, bibliographies, correspondence, flyers, lists, prospectuses, broadsides, keepsakes, portfolios, and various other materials by or about individual presses, printers, book artists, and dealers. There is an emphasis on California presses and printers.
