    Biographical/Historical Note

    István Kiss (born 1896) was a Hungarian physician in the Austro-Hungarian Empire during World War I. He studied at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest. His father, also István Kiss, was also a physician.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    Correspondence, identification and personal documents, clippings, serial issues, photographs, and slides, relating to social and political conditions in Hungary, and to Austro-Hungarian participation in World War I. Personal documents include passports and school certificates. Clippings and serial issues from a variety of domestic and international newspapers on important dates pertaining to World War I. Photographs and slides from the Hungarian battle front. Includes some papers of the father of István Kiss, also named István Kiss and also a physician.
