Background
Freedman was born 1898. He graduated from College of the City of NY and worked on the NY Evening Mail. He wrote short stories
including The Intellectual Lover and created Mendel Marantz, East Side philosopher, a character in magazine stories and later a published book. He worked
as a writer for Eddie Cantor (1931-34), but left over a disagreement. He also wrote for numerous other radio programs such
as the Ken Murray Show, The Chase and Sanborn hour, and Baby Snooks. At the time of his death, Freedman had a case against Eddie Cantor for an alleged breach of contract. He died Dec. 8, 1936.
