Description
Volume one of the scrapbooks documents her first year at Stanford, 1929-30, and includes programs, athletic tickets, clippings, dance cards, invitations, and menus from local restaurants; many of the pages are also annotated. Volume two dates from 1933-1935 and pertains to Stanford events as well as others; included are programs, invitations, clippings, athletic tickets, notes, and photographs, as well as several items pertaining to her job with the Bank of America.
Background
Helen Vernier earned her A.B. in history at Stanford University in 1933; she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She was married to Jack Holwerda, Stanford class of 1935.
