Scope and Content of Collection
The collection contains more than 200 picture postcards, black/white and color, from a 1909 trip that Robert Siddell took
to South America (Guyana - then British, Dutch, and French Guiana) and the West Indies (Antigua, Barbados, Bermuda, Dominica,
Martinique, Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Vincent, Trinidad, Virgin Islands - then the Danish West Indies), as well as other places
such as Canada (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia), Turkey (Constantinople), and the U.S. (Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan) at other
times. Also included are a few letters, photographs, and ephemera, some relating to the American College for Girls in Constantinople
during and just after World War I.
The collection was donated by Mae K. Siddell, wife of Robert Siddell and Santa Barbara resident, in 1969.
