    Abstract: Carrie Jacobs-Bond (1862-1946) was a song composer, and president of the publishing firm of Carrie Jacobs Bond & Son. The collection consists of music and poetry manuscripts by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, citations and tribute books in honor of her, scrapbooks, clippings, and autographed photographs of celebrated persons. Some photographs have been removed from the collection and are now in Collections 974 and 99.

    Biography

    Carrie Jacobs-Bond was born on August 11, 1862 in Janesville, Wisconsin; composed some 200 songs including I love you truly, A perfect day, and Lovely hour; became president of the publishing firm of Carrie Jacobs Bond & Son; published books include Little stories in verse as unpretentious as the wild rose (1905), A perfect day and other poems, from the songs of Carrie Jacobs-Bond (c. 1926), The roads of melody (c. 1927), and The end-of-the-road (c. 1940); she died in Hollywood, California on December 28, 1946.

    Scope and Content

    Collection consists of music and poetry manuscripts by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, citations and tribute books in honor of her, scrapbooks, clippings, and autographed photographs of celebrated persons. Manuscripts include I love you truly, O haunting melody, My son, Dear pal of mine, I've done my work, Your song, Sunset, The soul of you, Robin Adair, Days on the lazy river, The forget-me-not, Democracy, and A vision. Some photographs have been removed from the collection and are now in Collections 974 and 99.

    3. Poems by Carrie Jacobs-Bond published by Volland (Box 3).
