These papers contain notices from the President's Office, 1916-1918, pertaining to grades for students leaving because of
the military draft, alternate seating during exams, influenza epidemic, and student discipline; form letter and report for
the 1903/04 year of the Students Guild Hospital; correspondence (largely incoming), 1909-1921 and 1946, pertaining to committee
appointments and business, possibility of a tailor's shop at Fallen Leaf Lake for the Army Training camp, and a follow up
on a speech by Mitchell in 1946; and assorted certificates and awards, 1944-71.
Background
Mitchell, who earned his A.B. (1903), A.M. (1904), and Ph.D. (1907) from Stanford University, was Registrar and Professor
of Chemistry.
