    Scope and Contents note

    This collection comprises two videotapes of an oral history interview with Marion Mostny. The interview was conducted by Peter Ryan and Anne Grenn Saldinger on behalf of the Holocaust Oral History Project on November 4, 1998. Marion Mostny is a Holocaust survivor.
    The interview describes Ms. Mostny's childhood in Berlin, Germany; the changes she experienced during the 1930s; and her parents' decision to leave Germany. She describes her family's emigration to Santiago, Chile in April 1939; the community of Jewish refugees there; and the fates of family members left behind in Germany. Ms. Mostny describes her life in Chile, her and her husband's decision to emigrate to the United States in 1963, and their subsequent life in San Francisco. She describes her decision to write her memoirs and the importance of Holocaust remembrance.
