Established in 1935, the Citizen's Advisory Committee for La Purisima Mission State Historic Park is California's oldest state park supporting committee. This series contains materials documenting the activities and history of the committee.

Pearl Chase was a prominent member of the Santa Barbara community and in addition to her work at the mission, founded the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation in 1963 with other community members. This subseries contains Pearl Chase's copies of mission Advisory Committee records, Annual Reports of Historic Building Preservation, garden records, a Santa Barbara legal agreement regarding the mission entered in 1966, and mission brochures and memorabilia. Also included in this subseries are microfilm, photographs, negatives, lantern slides, and 35mm slides of mission newspaper clippings featuring Pearl Chase.
