as well as the executive committee and Board of Directors meetings. Materials
document the activities and services the SCGBA provided, such as a healthcare
program, fundraising events, and a benefits/discount program for SCGBA
members.

events and general membership meetings of the Southern California Gay
Bartenders Association from 1983 to 1985. Included are photographs of the
wedding of SCGBA members Gary Bond and John Duncan--a fundraising event to
benefit Aid for AIDS. Notably, this subseries includes images of Los
Angeles-area bars and restaurants, such as Woody's Hyperion, Silver Dollar

Subseries Scope and Content
This subseries comprises correspondence, minutes, financial
records, bylaws, committee reports and policies and various printed ephemera
from Aid for AIDS, a Los Angeles-based organization formed to provide services
and advocate for people with AIDS. The bulk of the materials dates from 1986
and document the relationship between Aid for AIDS and SCGBA as well as
Freitas' involvement in both organizations.
