Scope and Content

The Jewish Home for the Aged of Los Angeles records consist of meeting minutes, memorandums, reports, brochures, and newsletters produced and collected by this organization. The Jewish Home for the Aged was originally located in the Boyle Heights section of Los Angeles. In 1976, the Home moved to a new residential facility in the San Fernando Valley (the planning, construction, and dedication of which are referred to in the records), and then merged with the California Home for the Aged, resulting in a new organization called the Jewish Home for the Aging of Greater Los Angeles, now known as the Los Angeles Jewish Home.
