I. PERSONAL PAPERS, 1914-1981

Scope and Content Note

Arrangement

Arranged chronologically within series.
Series consists of manuscripts and photographs documenting Scott's formal education, travels in Europe and Japan, family, writings not directly related to her career and personal finances.
 

II. PROFESSIONAL PAPERS, 1929-1987

Scope and Content Note

Arrangement

Arranged chronologically within series.
The Professional Papers consist of documents produced by Scott relating to her career in landscape architecture. The series includes correspondence concerning potential projects, publishing, research, design reviews, the establishment of her traveling fellowship at UC Berkeley and essays by Michael Laurie and David Streatfield. The series also includes transcriptions and notes from speeches and presentations given by Scott, documents concerning her involvement in several associations and committees including the ASLA and Berkeley Art Commission, her professional licenses, and documents kept as reference materials such as magazines and newspaper clippings related to the profession in general and not to specific projects.
 

III. FACULTY PAPERS, 1943-1988

Scope and Content Note

Arrangement

Arranged chronologically within series.
This series documents Scott's involvement at the San Jose Adult Education center and her teaching appointment at UC Berkeley. The collection includes papers relating to her teaching appointments, course materials and student work. The series also includes documentation of her participation on a design jury and her involvement in educational organizations.
