    Abstract: Gregory Yale (1816-1871) was the author of Legal titles to mining claims and water rights in California (1867).     Biography

    Yale was the author of Legal titles to mining claims and water rights in California (1867).
    Yale came to California in 1850 from Jacksonville and established a law practice in San Francisco where for a number of years he was associated with the law firm of Halleck, Peachy & Billings. He was also associated with Frank Turk and other San Francisco lawyers. He later opened his own office and specialized in mining law.

    Collection consists of correspondence, legal files, and accounts relating mainly to Yale's law practice in Jacksonville, FL and in San Francisco, as well as some personal letters and papers.
