Foundation.

Biographical/Historical Sketch
The George Vanderbilt Foundation was devoted to the collecting of ichthyological specimens
in the South Seas.
This collection includes correspondence primarily regarding the dissolution of the
Foundation after Vanderbilt's death in 1961, and agreements between the Foundation and
Stanford University. Major correspondents include Earl Herald, Robert Rofen, Giles Mead,
Curtis Tarr, James Thurber and trustees of the Foundation.
