His published books include City-makers (1948), The water seekers (1950), Los Angeles: from mission to modern city (1960), Ghost towns and mining camps of California (1965), and The real Joaquin Murieta (1974). The collection consists of manuscripts, typescripts, galley and page proofs, correspondence, and research notes for several of Nadeau's books.

    Biography

    Remi Allen Nadeau was born August 30, 1920 in Los Angeles, California; BA, Stanford, 1942; editorial writer, Santa Monica evening outlook, 1949-53; assistant manager, executive staff office, North American Aviation, Incorporated, 1958-67; special assistant to the Attorney General, U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D.C., 1970-73; council member (1962-68), vice-president (1963), and president (1964), Friends of the UCLA Library; published books include City-makers (1948), The water seekers (1950), The ghost towns of California (1954), Los Angeles: from mission to modern city (1960), California: the new society (1963), Ghost towns and mining camps of California (1965), Fort Laramie and the Sioux Indians (1967), The real Joaquin Murieta (1974).

    Collection consists of manuscripts, typescripts, galley and page proofs, correspondence, and research notes for several of Nadeau's books.
