Biography
Loye Holmes Miller was born in Minden, Louisiana on October 18, 1874. He received an M.S. in Zoology from the University of
California, Berkeley in 1903. In 1904 he became an instructor in Biology at the Los Angeles Normal School, later the University
of California at Los Angeles. He remained on the faculty until his retirement as Professor of Biology in 1943. Miller passed
away on April 6, 1970.

The collection contains photocopies of eleven typescripts by Miller, several of which describe his naturalist expeditions.
