Description
Collection includes "Determinative Mineralogy with Tests for and Descriptions of Minerals," compiled by D. Crandall and C. H. Beal under the direction of Prof. A. F. Rogers, 1911 (bound typescript); Rogers' notebook on "crystallographic constants of the important mineral species" begun in 1897; copy of Rogers' INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY OF MINERALS (1937) heavily annotated by him; and notes and other papers removed from the book, 1940-47 and undated.
Background
Austin Flint Rogers, A.B. and A.M. University of Kansas and Ph.D. Columbia, 1902, was professor of mineralogy at Stanford University from 1905 to 1942.
