Biographical/Historical Sketch
Rex F. Harlow earned his doctorate in education at Stanford in 1937 and was on the faculty from 1938 to 1944. He was a major
figure in the development of the public relations profession and a founder of the Public Relations Society of America. His
published works include SOCIAL SCIENCE IN PUBLIC RELATIONS, PRACTICAL PUBLIC RELATIONS, and PUBLIC RELATIONS IN WAR AND PEACE,
as well as many other books on education, history, and children's fiction. He died in 1993.
