Description
Contains typescripts of poetry, short stories, and novels, including Never Let Me Go, and Torchlight to Valhalla; galley proofs; and documents relating to publishing including correspondence, contracts, and royalty statements. Also includes photographs of Gale Wilhelm and of her house in the Berkeley Hills.
Background
Gale Wilhelm was born on April 26, 1908 in Eugene, Oregon. Wilhelm lived in Berkeley, California for most of her adult life. She was an author best known for her lesbian themed novels, We Too Are Drifting (1935), and Torchlight to Valhalla (1938).
