Biography / Administrative History
"100 to Infinity" is an unfinished documentary conceived by Andrew
Rakos, a widely respected entrepreneur and philanthropist in the Los Angeles
gay and lesbian community, profiling 100 gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
heterosexual leaders. The list of 100 was drawn up by a panel of community
figures and members of the gay and lesbian press on National Coming Out Day in
October 1995. It includes gay and lesbian historical figures, such as Alexander
the Great and Susan B. Anthony, contemporary gays and lesbians, such as
Congressman Barney Frank and author Rita Mae Brown, and heterosexuals who work
diligently for gay and lesbian rights, such as Dr. Evelyn Hooker and actress
Judith Light. The documentary was designed as a tool to inform America's youth
about significant contributions by gays, lesbians, and their supporters
throughout history. Rakos acted as executive producer of the documentary; Rhona
Berenstein and Pam Cohen served as producers.
