    Biography / Administrative History

    William Miller was born in Ontario, Canada (1867). He came with family to California as boy, and graduated from Oakland High School, and then became court reporter in San Francisco and married Lenora Huntley in the 1890s. Miller went to the Klondike Gold Rush with his brother-in-law, Oni Lomax, and brother, Henry Miller in 1898. Later he took entire family to Yukon Territory (1900) and remained there for five years.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    Collection consists of over 1,000 photographs. Most were taken in the area of Dawson, Yukon Territory from 1897-1902. Includes photos of the Klondike gold rush and local Native Americans. Collection also contains photos of various members of the Miller family in Canada, Alaska, and California.
