- The Supervisor Pete McHugh Collection consists of correspondence, memorandums, budget letters, fiscal records and articles. This collection documents the twelve years that Pete McHugh served as a county supervisor for the third district which contains Alviso, Milpitas, Evergreen, the northern portion of Sunnyvale, the northern portion of San Jose and portions of East San Jose.

This collection consists of correspondence, memorandums, budget letters, fiscal records and articles. The bulk of the collection is of letters written by Pete McHugh.
- Biographical / historical:

County Supervisor Pete McHugh was born in Boston, Massachusetts and attended Boston University and University of California at Los Angeles, receiving a degree in Business Administration. He worked for thirty years with IBM Corporation in the accounting and software development areas. He served as a city council member and mayor of Milpitas from 1976 to 1996. He then served as a Santa Clara County Supervisor for District 3 from 1997 to 2009. McHugh was elected in November, 2008 to serve as Milpitas' vice mayor until 2012.
