Background
Jones was born in Amarillo, TX, Apr. 28, 1929. She attended Pasadena Community Playhouse in Pasadena, CA (1950). She made
her stage debut in the 1940s followed by her television debut in 1951. She gained popularity in the mid-1960s in the role
of Morticia in popular The Addams family television series. Her film credits include, Desiree (1954), The Seven Year Itch (1955), The Tender Trap (1955), The Bachelor Party (1957), for which she was nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role, and Majorie Morningstar (1958). She died Aug. 3, 1983 in Hollywood, CA.
