History
The Natural Colored Wool Growers Association (NCWGA) is a nation-wide non-profit organization composed of sheep breeders,
fiber artists, and others with an interest in colored wool. It was founded in 1977 in response to sheep breeders' need for
official judging standards for black, brown, gray, and multi-colored sheep and wool. Since its founding, the NCWGA has been
instrumental in registering flocks of colored sheep and in developing the standards that are now used by fairs and expositions.
The organization serves its members by helping them develop, improve, and promote colored sheep and wool.
