Scope and content:

The Nikolai Aleksandrovich TSurikov Papers document the life and work of a prominent Russian émigré who distinguished himself as a cultural, political, and literary figure. The collection records Tsurikov's experiences during the Russian Civil War and World War II, as well as his life in exile within the Russian émigré community. It includes personal documents, extensive correspondence, photographs, and publications by Tsurikov. The materials also relate to displaced persons camps in post–World War II Germany, Russian immigration organizations, and the Russian Orthodox Church.

Biographical / historical:

Nikolai Aleksandrovich TSurikov (1886–1957) was a Russian political writer and public intellectual who emigrated to Czechoslovakia following the Russian Revolution. An influential social and cultural figure within the Russian diaspora, he played an active role in émigré political and intellectual life. His experiences in exile and engagement with émigré communities strongly shaped and defined his writings.
