"LAX-Benito Juarez: Prints by Artists from Mexico City and Los Angeles" 1994-1996

Physical Description: 13 folders

Scope and Content Note

Exhibition held at the Armand Hammer Museum from 1995 Oct. 10-1996 Jan. 07. Premiere exhibition of a portfolio of 16 color lithographs and woodcuts printed by El Nopal Press (founded by master printer Francesco Siqueiros in 1990) of eight artists, four from Los Angeles and four from Mexico City. The artist from Los Angeles were John Valadez, Daniel J. Martínez, Victor Estrada, and Yreina Cervántez, with the artists from Mexico City comprised of Ruben Ortiz-Torres, Rocio Maldonado, Eloy Tarcisio, and German Venegas. This exhibition was coordinated with a survey of works from Self-Help Graphics in the Hammer's adjacent galleries.
